About Access Oasis

Access Oasis Garden is a vision we want to make into a reality in Queens, NYC. Disabled people are essential to communities, and every person has a right to accessible green spaces.

Why Do We Need Access Oasis?

The years leading up to Access Oasis have been some of the most difficult times in recent history for disabled people. And today, the pandemic isn’t over especially for many disabled people.

Even before COVID-19, often, the most disabling parts of disability are an inaccessible environment and lack of community education.

Indoor spaces are not always inclusive for disabled people since COVID-19 began. A leading cause -- most communities don't know how to create inclusive spaces.

And in 2021, there were more than 1.2 million newly disabled Americans (according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics), largely due to COVID-19 complications.
